Topic: Growing pains case solution
May 23, 2019 / By Jenna Question:
Okay. well. I'm 14 years old and my hair is breaking off! I'm mulatto and I straighten my hair every 3 days about. Well when i do this I get a sink full of tiny little hairs. It's gotten to the point where my hair won't grow anymore and and when I brush it or pull on it, it just breaks off. I've dyed and relaxed and straightened my hair before. please help! thanks. :)

This is WHY.
The hair industry is a billion dollar business, they sell products that cleans & condition the hair. They also sell products that damage and causes hair loss. They also DO NOT give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss due to 'abuse'. Mechanical, chemical, or thermal styling. Hair straighteners and relaxers top the hair products pose the greatest risks. Hair relaxers, related products marketed heavily to African-American women, are dangerous because they may contain powerful chemicals such as lye, a toxic substance also used in drain cleaners.
BTW: A variety of hair-straightening products used in professional salons can expose both hairdressers and their customers to formaldehyde. The results show that three professional hair-smoothing treatments labeled "formaldehyde free" can produce the cancer-causing chemical at concentrations above the occupational exposure limits set by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. They tested four products: Coppola Keratin Complex Blonde Formula, Global Keratin Juvexin Optimized Functional Keratin, La Brasiliana Escluso Keratin Treatment with Collagen, and Brazilian Blowout Acai Professional Smoothing Solution. While ChemRisk tested four popular brands of hair straighteners, there are hundreds on the market. Nov. 11-11
It is a billion dollar business, and they do not give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss due to 'abuse', in this case, cancer.
Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.
This is another REASON why the FDA banned Brazilian Blowout. BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT HAD BEEN BANNED by the Food & Drug Adm. Sept. 12, 2011.
Google keratin treatment warnings. About 1,980,000 results (0.17 seconds)
Past users of the product have complained of sore throat, skin irritation, headaches, chest pain and rashes, among other symptoms. That may have something to do with the fact that the levels of formaldehyde found in the product rival those typically used in funeral embalming. That’s a lot of formaldehyde.
Did you say you're ONLY 14?
If you've straightened your hair in the past, it may grow slowly or none at all.
Google: "Foods for Healthy Hair" - Your hair may be the fastest-growing tissue in the body but, unlike the skin, it cannot repair itself. That is why getting the right balance of vitamins and proteins is imperative. Don't expect to look like you've stepped out of a hair commercial the day after you've changed your diet. It is likely to take at least three months before you actually see tangible results.
Growing healthy hair doesn't come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you're in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you're eating healthy foods. But when hair isn't growing as fast, it's because they've been tampered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. . .
Eliminate the 'causes' and your hair will improve. Change your diet and stop abusing your hair.

Even if you take care of your hair, it could be dry, or (most curly hair gets frizzy outside, it could be just your hair itself) If you brush your hair like I do (Rougly when there knots and tangles) It makes split ends, and your hair could be splitting even more so when you pull it, it will be bound to break off. Also sleeping on wet hair after a shower is bad, So dry your hair with a blow dryer, if you dont have one, I suggest tieing it in a bun and gently taking the hair band out in the morning or getting a silk pillow case. Try getting olay overnight miracle or coconut oil works too.. I think it is 15$ at target and walmart, you squirt the soap in your hands then rub together, rubbing the ends or the roots! (That could also possibly be the problem) and go to sleep, overnight it helps the hair. It has helped me alot, but If this doesn't help, I'm sorry.
You've serious split ends! That's all that is. My hair went like this 'cause I refused to get it cut 'cause I didn't want it any shorter & kept dying & straightening my hair (Which really dries it out & makes split ends so much worse) & my hair was just a mess after.
I'd recommend going to the hairdressers & getting a good couple in inches cut off it, it'll help your hair so much in the long run! It'll feel softer & healthier too. Try to avoid dying and straightening your hair too much once it's cut 'cause it'll just go back to that state only shorter!
Hope I helped! Treat your hair well! Don't make the same mistake as me! I now have shoulder length hair, it used to be much longer!
you shouldnt dye it or relax it or straighten it or nothing for about 6 years. what youve done to you hair has caused you hair to be damaged. its a good idea to keep it natural until you are at least 20. the damage will grown out eventually. you might have to wait a while. try your best to keep it natural. if it still does breaks, the damage is probably still too severe and my have passed through to the folicle. use aloe vera shampoo and use minimal conditioner. use lemon or lime juice for hairspray/hairgel. and dont straighten it anymore. the damage is already done and all you can do is stop applying heat and chemicals to you hair to prevent even more. after a while, your hair will go back to normal. good luck!
hope it helped!
because its so damaged obviously. I suggest you deep condition it and keep it away from heat more often and when you straighten your hair use heat protectant
