to be completely honest, no. sometimes past employers come up in background checks, but usually only current employers. If the companies you worked for would give you a negative reference, then don't list them. If they would give you a good reference, then listing them will help you as a job candidate, showing you have experience. So you'll have to determine if the costs of listing the jobs outweighs the benefits of having a clean slate. Also, if the jobs weren't that amazing (like fast-food) or you only worked there for like a couple months, it may not matter much either way. Usually lower-rung jobs don't actually even check references, they just take your word for it, and they'll fire you if you're not up to par. But then again, why would you lie, and get yourself into a job you can't do? lol btw just because you quit a job doesn't mean that looks bad on your part....and also maybe you could try telling new employers that the manager you used to work for moved, or say you don't have the number?

Job applications are frequently hard - how should you fill them out? Should you follow them up when there is no response? I suggest there's no true answer but the resource in the box below has some great guidance about this. It really helped me when I was filling out job applications recently, additionally they have alternative stuff on job seeking.

i know they always ask that but you shouldnt lie and tell them the truth. if you get a interview with a job you applyed for just tell them you had to leave because of personal matter.

Re: Qualifications just describe any experience you have with customer service, food prep and serve, etc. even at home. State that you will be on time and willing and able to learn all of the tasks required of you. That you are friendly, presentable and very excited about the opportunity to work for the company/coffee shop. For previous employment you can put baby sitting, house sitting, animal care, house keeping - anything that you did for someone paid or not and a couple of character references would help. Good luck

Applications are about bending the truth. " I love helping people" or " I love the smell of coffee "... As a barista, you have to have a good memory, know how to make the drinks. Maybe you have specal skills ... cooking can translate to serving. " I'm a quick learner " ... or " I Want to learn responsibility and work towards store management " ...
