Well, considering that Apple doesn't allow 3rd party applications on the Touch as yet, I would assume you can't at all, unless you have hacked it with an alternate OS. I'm not sure there are any for the Touch yet. There are web apps that people have written that are available through Safari on the Touch, but they do not require installing. Just do a Google search for the specific type of app you're looking for and see if it's out there.

Fall Down! is a good game, Angry Birds (lite), Scoops is an AMAZING game to play, and just browse through the categories section, when on the App Store.

Well, the first part of your question is easy to resolve. Just Go to preference| Windows: Open iTunes > Preference > Syncing. Mac: Open iTunes > iTunes > Preference > Syncing. You should see your iPod Touch® or iPhone®, simply uncheck at the bottom of that panel "Disable automatic syncing for iPod Touch and iPhone". Problem solved. (You may need to sync a few times or restart the Computer and/or iTunes before the result is seen) To restart the iPod Touch: Just hold the only 2 buttons on the iPod until you see the beautiful Apple Logo. http://www.apple.com/support/ipodtouch/t... Also, the crashes you're having are happening for everyone, pretty much. The fine people will fix these problems, just give 'em some times.

1. There is currently no way to turn of that SUPER ANNOYING "feature" of backing up, I heard that its taking so long because of the apps, uploading your game score for example. 2. My iPod touch is having the same problem too after the 2.0 update...sometimes it just reboot itself like a piece of CR*P! and the performance has decreased after the update too, now its like a...windows machine with celeron D processor...APPLE! We paid for this..GIVE US A FIX !!
