I got offered a job and I don't know if I should take it? Topic: About writing a home offer
July 19, 2019 / By Eleonor
Question: I am having to make a big decision, either way it's going to dramatically change my life. I am a college student and have been desperately seeking a job. When I applied for places I had open availability and just got offered and amazing, fun job based on the availability to work 5 days a week. However, yesterday, I just received an offer to attend partial hospitalization at our eating disorder center on scholarship (since I don't have heath insurance and really need treatment for my anorexia) in mid January and my schedule there will be M-F 12 PM - 7:30 PM. I really need a job, my family is starving and their power at home is about to be shut off and my sister is diabetic and can't afford her insulin. However, if I pass up on this opportunity at my ED center, I won't ever get it again. I have no idea what to do....

You answered your own question - you need the money and you need new clothes. Working Monday through Friday is a normal work week so just make sure your hours are set upfront so you're not working for too long each day (no expectations that you will work extended hours if the parents want an evening out). You'll still have your evening and weekends off, no homework to do and be working at something that is fun. Plus, when the families take a vacation or days off during the summer, so will you. Plan on quitting about two weeks before school starts in the fall so you can have some time of your own before getting back into your school routine.
