Besides mystifying fairy tales and superstition, The Tao Te Ching explicitly encourages tall poppy syndrome, and instructs grumpy parents and military commanders to cultivate stupidity and ignorance in populations:
Tao Te Ching Verse 56
Also, the mystical and abstract sounding 'Tao', deliberately described as indescribable, is just another name for a monotheistic unity. Apparently a deliberate lie, specifically designed to injure the mind and secretly yet absurdly, suggest to each individual that they are God, planting seeds of psychotic delusion.
Here is the scenario from the Christian monotheistic point of view - but solved:
- There is a story about a solitary creator. However, if that story is accurate, and there is a solitary creator, it only has it's own awareness with which to make the world. And as such, since you know you are aware, YOU would be THAT solitary, eternally lonely God.
Making worlds only to burn them down again as we are witnessing.
And, because you are not God, as you know, there is no solitary, eternally lonely God. Only someone else, trying to grab you and drag you by the hair.
there are many cult groups using taoism as covers, including the use of spirit mediums. it is not popular with the young professionals & elite group. the taoist canon Dao Te Ching/ Dao De Jing are badly translated in english, as such westerners are still stumped by its content. only china scholars gave it good translations from archaic chinese (destroyed during Manchurian rule) to modern chinese.
