Before you go ahead with your knee replacement either with steel or plastic knee joints, consider another alternative which is less invasive. It will take about 3 to 6 months to rejunevate your knee cartilage. It requires sacrifice in the form of avoiding certain kinds of food. It requires you to take high dosage of supplements to rebuild your knees. But it will be less costly then an operation. And it also means you can squat down and you don't have intense pain when the weather is cold and about to rain (you get that from steel kneed joints) These are the complications you have to face in knee replacement operations. DAMN NASTY SCAR on the knees Deep Vein thrombosis According to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), "blood clots in the leg veins are the most common complication of knee replacement surgery. Your orthopedic surgeon will outline a prevention program, which may include periodic elevation of your legs, lower leg exercises to increase circulation, support stockings and medication to thin your blood." Fractures Periprosthetic fractures are becoming more frequent with the aging patient population and can occur intraoperatively or postoperatively. Loss of Motion The knee at times may not recover its normal range of motion (0 - 135 degrees usually) after total knee replacement. Much of this is dependent on pre-operative function. Most patients can achieve 0 - 110 degrees, but stiffness of the joint can occur. In some situations, manipulation of the knee under anesthetic is used to improve post operative stiffness. There are also many implants from manufacturers that are designed to be "high-flex" knees, offering a greater range of motion. Instability In some patients, the kneecap is unstable post-surgery and dislocates to the outer side of the knee. This is painful and usually needs to be treated by surgery to realign the kneecap. However this is quite rare. In the past, there was a considerable risk of the implant components loosening over time as a result of wear. As medical technology has improved however, this risk has fallen considerably. One implant manufacturer claims to have reduced this risk of wear by 79% in fixed-bearing knees. Another implant manufacturer claims to have reduced the risk of wear by 94% in mobile-bearing, also known as rotating platform, knees. Knee replacement implants can last up to 20 years in many patients; whether or not they actually survive that long depends largely in part upon how active the patient is after surgery Infection The current classification of AAOS divides prosthetic infections into four types. Type 1 (Positive intraoperative culture): 2 positive intraoperative cultures Type 2 (early postoperative infection): Infection occurring within first month after surgery Type 3 (acute hematogenous infection): Hematogenous seeding of site of previously well-functioning prosthesis Type 4 (late chronic infection): Chronic indolent clinical course; infection present for >1 month While it is relatively rare, periprosthetic infection remains one of the most challenging complications of joint arthroplasty. A detailed clinical history and physical remain the most reliable tool to recognize a potential periprosthetic infection. In some cases the classic signs of fever, chills, painful joint, and a draining sinus may be present, and diagnostic studies are simply done to confirm the diagnosis. In reality though, most patients do not present with those clinical signs, and in fact the clinical presentation may overlap with other complications such as aseptic loosening. In those cases diagnostic tests can be useful in confirming or excluding infection. Are you prepared for that? Or look at another alternative? I have been able to help some people rejunevate their kneecaps but remember, discipline is required to go through a regiment of food and exercise for 3 to 6 months. And if can be painful during the initial healing process.

Christi Originally Answered: How much does it cost total to become a commercial helicopter pilot?
Cost It's actually more like double those amounts. Flight time is the bulk of the expense. Rates around the US that I have seen range from about $250-$300 per hour and the FAA requires 150 minimum for a commercial certificate. If your average instruction rate is $275/hr., then 150 hours will cost $41,250. Books, ground lessons, supplies, written tests, etc. will be in addition to that. Furthermore, almost everyone who does civilian training starts their career as a flight instructor. Flight instructor training will take another 30 or so hours, but many flight schools will require some minimum experience before they hire you as an instructor. Some or all of the additional time may come out of your pocket as well. Once it is all said and done from 0 to being employable could take anywhere from 200 up to even 300 hours. Once you find rates in your area you can calculate a more accurate estimate, but in general you should plan on spending at least $60,000 or probably more, and rates are always rising. Duration Most schools have you train at your own pace so how long it will take depends on how frequently you can schedule lessons. I've seen some people complete all of their ratings (private, instrument, commercial, CFI, CFII) in as little as 8 months. I have seen others take several years due to infrequent or inconsistent lessons. How often you fly will depend on three things: your schedule, the flight school's schedule, and the availability of funds. Any one of those may cause you to get stuck, and to take longer. Do some research, and plan ahead carefully to minimize delays created by any of these. Starting Salary $15K per year is very possible for a low time instructor who just finished their initial training, and that's if you're lucky enough to find a job right away. Times are pretty hard right now for everyone, and there are inexperienced pilots looking for work everywhere. Once you do get an instructor job, it could take a couple of years to get enough additional experience to move up to a better flying job. So, suffice it to say that this is not a particularly lucrative career, especially after spending so much for initial training. It takes a lot of persistence and determination to make it work, but it is possible to make it work. For more information, see my general answer about civilian helicopter training here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... Good luck!

I am a civilian trained commercial helicopter pilot. I was never an instructor, but most people go that route. Yes, most instructors will earn minimal $$. Many pilots start flying offshore for the oil and gas industry in the Gulf Of Mexico after getting experience as an instructor. 1500-2000 hours of experience and an instrument rating is currently the minimum for an entry level job at 51-65K. The helicopter tour industry in Las Vegas for example tends to hire pilots around the same experience levels. The possibilities for advancement in the offshore industry are much hire and can open the doors for international jobs. Helicopter pilots flying overseas in the offshore industry can earn between 120-180k per year and earnings are mostly tax free ... These jobs are very hard to get and require a lot of experience. With all of this said it will cost between 60-80k to become a marketable pilot .. The national average to get a private helicopter certificate is aprox. 80 hours

I truly have BlueCrossBlueShield of Alabama, and they lined it at 80% after my deductible became paid for both the three hundred and sixty 5 days and the wellbeing facility ($500 for the three hundred and sixty 5 days, and $2 hundred for wellbeing facility). With my Ob-Gyn, he charged $2,four hundred for vaginal and $2,900 for C-section. although, I in reality ended up paying him $780 after coverage took care of their 80%. After the wellbeing facility deductible, they paid for one hundred% of the room and such. Now, don't be shocked if different expenditures pop up. I had to pay for the anesthesiologist, the in-wellbeing facility pediatrician, the ear-nostril-throat wellbeing practitioner who appeared my son over, the wellbeing practitioner who circumcised my son, and for this particular mattress they had to carry to my residing house to assist with my son's jaundice. coverage haggled them down on the expenses for a lot of them yet did not pay the $2 hundred for the mattress. My husband and that i finished up paying round $2,2 hundred with the aid of the time each and each of the expenses stopped coming.

Ava Originally Answered: How do you find a profit equation using total cost?
a) Profit = Revenue - Costs. Revenue is simply price multiplied by quantity, so your profit function is: P = pq - (q^2)/8 - 3q - 100 - (q^2)/4 - 2q - 80 Since p = $12, this simplifies to: P = 12q - (q^2)/8 - 3q - 100 - (q^2)/4 - 2q - 80 b) This is a simple one-dimensional maximization problem. Take the first derivative of the profit function with respect to q and set to zero. This yields: dP/dq = 12 - q/4 - 3 - q/2 - 2 = 7 - 3q/4 = 0. Solving for q implies q = 9.3333. c) Take the derivative of each cost function with respect to q and plug in q = 9.3333: dTCa/dq = q/4 - 3 = (9.333/4 - 3) = -0.6667 dTCb/dq = q/2 - 2 = (9.333/2 - 2) = 2.6667 They are not equal, with TCb > TCa
