Question: I have a Sony camera- model no.: DCR-SX63- I JUST got it. I have a Vista computer, which is kind of new. I loaded the software into my computer: PMB- I'm not sure what this stands for.... I got the I files to work on Windows Media Player too. But when I import them into WMM, it only plays audio, with a black screen. It says they're MPEG files(MPG, or whatever.), which WMM says it can play. I really don't want to download something, in case of a virus.... but will if I have to. Otherwise, IDK. I really NEED this done! I have been trying to figure this out for the last week, because I literally just got the camera for my birthday. PLEASE HELP!! Please! *bursts out in tears* Note: The audio doesn't work on Windows Media Player, only the video. Opposite...

This happened to me- well almost this. I had an apple file trying to get onto WWM. windows movie maker is a generic system- ONLY windows files can work on it. Adobe Photoshop Premiere takes i think all file types- but in order to save it you have to change the file type to MPEG which is the file its most compaatible with. In your case, it already is MPEG. You could download a trial for 30 days since buying the program is like 70 bucks. I also hear Sony Vega 9.0 is good, and should work wiht your camera since you have a sony camera. But i havent used it. :) hope i helped

Windows movie maker does not support all file types, like the files my canon digital camera makes. mov files. Get a better editing software and that should solve your problems. You don't say what your camera is or how you are downloading. If it's a minidv camcorder, you need a firewire connection. If it's a minidvd camcorder you have to convert the files using a file converting program like handbrake (free download). If it's a hard disc, then download using the USB cord. If it's a flash drive, you can either use a card reader or USB and copy and paste the photo's from the card to the file of your choice.

Video was uploaded using scene detection (on/), a helpful wmm feature w/c splits the whole tape video into small scenes, a process w/c u'll have to painstakingly endure anyway in video editing. - preview the scenes and drag & drop to wmm timeline according to your storyboard (flow of story u'd wish to tell) - edit the video... (in the timeline) trim the shaky parts and retain the interesting prts w/c can spice up your story. A very long video with repeated scenes will most likely bore the viewer... the story shud only show the highlights. Note: If you save the video after uploading, the various little scenes will be saved in a folder you've specified in the wmm setting (most likely myVideos or somethin)

I make each and every person of my movies for Youtube in living house windows action picture Maker & I under no circumstances have any hassle importing them. Are you saving the video on your My video record as a WMV layout, then importing it from there to Youtube..? considering the fact which you could no longer upload it in the present day from action picture Maker to Youtube, it won't paintings...

You don't have the video codec that your camera uses. Use http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ to find out which codec that is, then you can search for it and download it.

You may need to convert your files to an AVI file format. When a video is recorded it is recorded under a certain format. A good example is that your file (which I'm assuming is an MP4) is written in French because it was written by France (Apple). Movie Maker is native to America (Microsoft) so it is written in English. So you need someone who can successfully interpret BOTH languages and convert between the two. You can do a google search for "mp4 to avi converter" or something like that. I am not going to suggest any particular converter but you will want freeware. A few warnings: Many programs that are available free by download contain viruses. No converter (transcriber) is perfect. You may loose some quality (or a lot if you do it wrong) so you may have to work at it a while. GOOD LUCK. It's a pain. I have to convert from MP4 (my HD camera shoots in that format) in order to edit it.

Import your videos in your Windows Movie Maker and drag the video clip where you will put the pictures.
