Question: I'm currently mulling over college choices and I'm trying to figure out my chances of getting into my top choice schools. My choices are: Northwestern University (Evanston, Illinois) University of Chicago Princeton University New York University Dartmouth College Columbia University Brown University I'm an aspiring journalist and hope to one day write for a national newspaper. This is info about classes/activities that I've been/participated in. Based on this, what do you think my chances are of getting into these schools? And, what are your opinions of the schools? Also, based on this information, can you recommend any other schools that you feel I would have a decent chance of being accepted into? Your chances are very high and I can almost guarantee an acceptance from 2-3 of the schools you mentioned. As long as your essays were enlightening and well written, I wouldn't worry about a thing. The only advice I can really give is to conduct an interview with an alumni from your top choice, as it may benefit you during the process (plus it really can't hurt). If given the opportunity, try to embellish upon some of your primary school / non-school extracurricular activities.

You've earned excellent grades in very challenging classes, scored high on the ACT, and have demonstrated leadership in a diverse range of extracurriculars. I think the University of Illinois will be delighted to have you, especially if you're a state resident. You'll probably be able to land a spot at Northwestern and University of Chicago if you line up strong letters of recommendations and write thoughtful, compelling application essays. Virtually everyone who applies to Stanford has qualifications and accolades that are comparable to yours, and the odds are stacked against them all since over 93% won't get in. I definitely think you should give it a shot, though. Good luck!!! ~ skylark : )

Looks like you have a good chance. I'm not sure if they do the interview process at Stanford anymore, but if they do call you in, You are pretty much accepted, just make a good impression. Good Luck

Um, it's like impossible to do all those clubs, especially when you're an officer. Plus, it seems like you came on here to flaunt your imaginary skills and money, I wish I was an admissions counselor so I could deny people for "having no life" much like yourself. Stop lying about doing every club that your school has to offer.
