UK universities offer MA's either by research or coursework. In the case of a research based MA you will in fact require an excellent undergraduate degree before you are admitted. The other MA is completed by coursework. It does not require major research and is often partly composed of undergraduate level courses. As a result, no undergraduate degree is required, but it is often recommended. Another interesting fact is that in the UK and Australia, if you can convince the university that you can complete a PhD without an undergraduate degree, you could be admitted. You would have to be very persuasive with plenty of evidence to backup your application. In essence, an undergraduate degree is not always required to move on to a masters or PhD. This is a quirk of the UK and Australian university system. Hope this helps.

Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Intro Stats. Especially if you plan on taking Econometrics, you more or less need some basic version of each of those classes (save maybe DE). Matrix operations, graphing, derivatives, integrals, hypothesis testing, probability etc.

decide for a point economics reason i'm an a point economics pupil myself too. Economics is greater heavily relating to maths and graphs. It makes use of calculus. choose it over historic previous in case you go with a math appropriate profession

European Universities generally are a five year program...no BA, straight to the equivalent of a MA. That's true throughout most of Europe...not just Edinburgh.

You probably are yes; a Bachelor's always comes before a Master's degree except in cases were a school has a specific joint B.A/MA program.

I visited in February 2010 and experienced no paranormal activity whatsoever. Went round the guided tour with a tour guide and nothing unusual happened other than the fact that the tour guide was very grumpy.
