Nope, never. It's the marketing/distribution team all agree Next will not have a sequel because they only got 18.2 million dollars domestically, which was nowhere near their expectation. Therefore there will never ever be a sequel to this movie. Sorry.

This Site Might Help You. RE: Do you think they are going to make a sequel to Next starring Nicolas Cage? I liked the movie, and when I read the reviews on the wiki article of it I was disgusted at how many critics thought it was trash. Like really... keep sippin on the hateoraid. It was an interesting and cool concept to be able to see ahead in time and the ending just made me want more, like...

The reason you can not find a colorful story about the death of Copernicus is because it does not fit the biased view about bad-bad-bad Church prosecuting good scientists. Copernicus was supported by Church along the way, had great accomplishments in government management, theology and astronomy and died peacefully at old age (70 years) as well respected person.

Frauenburg in 1543 (May 24th). Waht exactly he died of I can't say but it's believed that he awoke from a stroke induced coma to look at a book he'd been working on and then died on seeing the book which had recently been published. So I'd say it's likely he died of a stroke.

Everild Originally Answered: What evidence did Copernicus use to come up with his model of the solar system?
Copernicus figured that the Ptolemy model of the solar system was too complicated. Why should the planets and Sun revolve around the Earth? Copernicus was not the first to propose that the Earth revolved around the Sun, Aristarchus first proposed this in the 2nd century BC. If the planets and the Earth revolved around the Sun he could do away with many of Ptolemy's epicycles.Day and night would be due to the Earth's rotation on its axis. Most planets in Ptolemy's geocentric universe had multiple epicycles. Copernicus keep Ptolemy's defens and epicycles because he assumed the orbits of the planets were circular not elliptical. His orbits didn't predict the position of the planets in the sky any better than Ptolemy's. Nor could he explain why the stars didn't show a parallax, It was Kepler who proposed that the planets orbits were ellipses. Galileo observed the phases of Venus which proved that Venus revolved around the Sun and not the Earth. he also discovered the Galilean moons of Jupiter which meant that bodies didn't necessarily have to revolve around the Earth. It was realized that the stars must be extremely far from the Earth not to show a parallax. The first parallax was measure by Bessel in 1838 of the star 61 Cygni which is 10.4 light years away. It's parallax is 0.3 arc seconds.
