Is a situation like this the best argument for the second amendment? Topic: Rape case statistics
April 25, 2019 / By Johnathan
Question: http://www.ajc.com/news/gwinnett/police-... If you do not want to read the article, a woman saved herself from a home intruder looking to sexually assault her by grabbing her .22 and firing 9 shots killing the intruder. The kicker? This man was a career criminal, convicted felon, and evaded further jail time in prior home invasion cases by getting 11 months probation. Thank God she had her gun! It still boggles my mind when I hear some extreme left liberals wanting to do away with all guns.

I didn't read the article but from how you described it it sounds like the robber got off the hook earlier for some dumb loophole or something. Not the point though. Liberals will convince you that guns are bad, and they'll manipulate statistics (most of which are less accurate than they'll have you believe) to prove their points. If someone breaks into your house, the police won't be there in time before they do what they want to do, be it kill you, rob you, rape you, kidnap you, etc. The only people that obey the gun bans are people who obey the laws to begin with. If I'm a criminal, and I don't care about the laws, then how would a gun ban deter me from using guns? It doesn't make sense. It's because of people who are afraid of guns and think that guns are what kill people. Someone always has to pull that trigger. By that liberal reasoning, you should give a drunk driver's car the DUI instead of the driver himself, right?

1. Fourth amendment. Unreasonable search and seizure. The police have to have a warrant, issued under 'probable cause', describing exactly what they're looking for in the house. (However, the Supreme Court under GW Bush ruled that illegally obtained evidence could be used in court if the policeman said he really believed a crime had been committed). 2. Fifth amendment. Double jeopardy. 3. Eighth amendment. Excessive bail. 4. First amendment. Freedom of the press. 5. Third amendment. Quartering of troops. Funny, this is the only one we never seem to have an argument about. 8^)

Who says we don't? i've got little situation with the 2d replace while it extremely is situation to the comparable form of barriers as different sections of the invoice of rights. only like techniques to't shout hearth in a theater, you in all hazard would not have the skill to very own a firearm while you're volatile. although, you may desire to settle for the fact of the situation. If there ever techniques a police state crackdown with protection tension help, it is not going maximum folk of weapons you extremely can very own could be that efficient. in spite of each and every thing, a rifle isn't an useful weapon against a tank.

Well good for her. But for every story like this, a gun owner shooting a burglar or rapist or murderer, there are ten stories with less optimal outcomes--innocent people being shot, road rage, drive-by shootings, and citizens being shot with their own guns. Statistically, if you have guns in the house you are more likely to shoot a loved one, or be shot yourself, than to shoot an intruder or predator. The ratio is like 10 to 1. You are more likely to shoot a -stranger- than a predator. Plus, why do you insist that 'extreme left liberals' (by which you probably mean anyone three inches to the left of Attila the Hun) want to do away with all guns? Why does ANY gun control proposal inevitably lead to doing away with all guns? What liberal leader have you ever heard suggesting that we do away with all guns? Could you invent a more obvious straw man argument? Sheesh!

Here's an even better one. If you do not want to read the article, a man saved himself from a another man who thought he was "owed something" for simply holding the door open. The kicker? This man sounds like a huge redneck. Thank God he had his gun! It still boggles my mind when I hear some extreme left liberals wanting to do away with all guns.

If guns could be Uninvented it would be a great thing for humanity but as long as Criminals and the government have access to firearms so should law abiding citizens this shouldn't even be a question.

Tabatha Originally Answered: What does bias mean & write a argument for a debate on a topical issue, representing one side of the argument?
Bias is basically the opinion of your debate. If something is biased, it is influenced by the opinion of the writer. Basically, you have to write a piece of work on something going on in the world like global warming but it's got to show just one opinion. Hope it helps!
